Profile & Honors

R. Leland Evans is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. and serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Railroad Law, Litigation and Regulatory Counsel Group. He regularly defends railroads in Federal Employers’ Liability Act, public liability and real estate litigation matters, and frequently represents railroads in matters pending before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Mr. Evans has also defended a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits involving motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, product liability, public utilities, premises liability, construction disputes, food and beverage liability, and professional negligence including medical, dental, pharmacy, and legal malpractice matters.

Mr. Evans has appeared in many of Ohio’s state courts both at the trial court level and in the courts of appeal, has tried cases in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and has argued before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also has substantial training and experience as a mediator.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Evans was a partner at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP where he was Chair of the Tort Litigation Practice Group and the Transportation and Logistics Practice Group.
