Eighteen Dickie McCamey Attorneys Named to 2013 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers List

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. (“DMC”) announces that 18 of its lawyers were selected for inclusion in 2013 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers by a vote of attorneys statewide.

Super Lawyers® is an impartial third-party rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each year, five percent of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.

The multiphase selection process involves creation of the candidate pool, evaluation of candidates by the research department, and peer evaluation by practice area. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Frederick W. Bode, III is a shareholder and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, health care litigation, and technology matters.  Mr. Bode graduated with honors from Grove City College with a B.A. in Economics and History. He received his J.D. from the University of Akron.

Charles G. Brown is a shareholder and serves as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Group and Chair of the Medicare Compliance Group.  Mr. Brown graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University. 

Howard A. Chajson is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis in medical malpractice defense.  Mr. Chajson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business with a B.S. in Economics. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, graduating cum laude. 

William D. Clifford is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial law and litigation, construction industry law, and surety law. Mr. Clifford is Chair of the firm’s Alternate Dispute Resolution Group and Co-Chair of the Construction Law Group and Government Contracting and Compliance Group.  Graduating from Bucknell University, Mr. Clifford received a B.S. in Business Administration. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University, cum laude. 

John C. Conti is President and Chief Executive Officer. He specializes in the representation of hospitals and other health care providers, primarily in connection with the defense of professional negligence suits and related litigation.  After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Conti received his J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law. 

Richard J. Federowicz is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the areas of health care law, commercial litigation, and estate planning and administration. He has tried a wide variety of cases with a particular emphasis in medical malpractice. Mr. Federowicz graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in International Relations and History. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University. 

George P. Kachulis is a shareholder and serves as an elected member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He has extensive civil litigation and trial experience in many areas, including professional malpractice (medical, chiropractic, and podiatric), product liability, motor vehicle/transportation negligence cases, construction law, and commercial law.  After receiving his B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science and History from Westminster College, Mr. Kachulis graduated with his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. 

Christopher T. Lee, a shareholder, is Founder and Chair of the Food and Beverage Industry Group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He concentrates his practice in the areas of food and beverage liability, commercial law and litigation, and toxic tort law. Mr. Lee graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science/Business. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, cum laude. 

Joseph L. Luvara is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis in automobile accident litigation, product liability litigation, school and municipal liability litigation, family law, and insurance litigation, including bad faith litigation.  Graduating from Point Park College, Mr. Luvara earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, cum laude. 

Robert J. Marino is a shareholder/director and concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance bad faith/coverage litigation, professional malpractice, premises liability, legal malpractice, and product liability law. After receiving his B.A. in Journalism, cum laude, from Duquesne University, Mr. Marino graduated from the Duquesne University School of Law with his J.D., cum laude. 

Thomas H. May, a shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Employment and Labor Law Group, concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and labor law and civil rights. After receiving his Criminology degree, magna cum laude, Mr. May graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with his J.D. 

Brant T. Miller is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in real estate matters, including real estate litigation, title insurance defense litigation, title opinions for minerals, oil & gas, commercial and residential real estate transactions, title insurance, realtor E&O defense, and title agent E&O defense.  He earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law after earning a B.A., cum laude, in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College. 

James R. Miller is a shareholder concentrating his practice in the areas of toxic tort law, medical malpractice, and product liability law. Mr. Miller graduated from New York University with a B.A. in History. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. 

Wilbur McCoy Otto is a shareholder and chairs the firm’s practice in medical professional and general liability litigation and health law, including self- insurance/captive/RRG company establishment and management for hospitals and physicians. He graduated from Dickinson College before earning his J.D. at University of Michigan School of Law. 

W. Alan Torrance, Jr. is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the areas of business torts and commercial litigation with a particular emphasis in construction and surety law. He earned his J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law and received a B.A. Economics at Washington & Jefferson College. 

John Edward Wall is a shareholder and concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation. He graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science degree and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Duquesne University School of Law. 

Nancy R. Winschel is a shareholder concentrating her practice in the area of civil litigation. Ms. Winschel graduated cum laude from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. She received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. 

Steven W. Zoffer is a shareholder and the Secretary/Treasurer. His practice focuses on business litigation, including the areas of technology, intellectual property, contracts/collection, general corporate law, higher education law, insurance company law, and franchise and appellate practice, with a particular emphasis in commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law after receiving his B.A. in Political Science/Business at the Pennsylvania State University.
